HMS Caroline, the last veteran of the Battle of Jutland, is to be conserved as a museum in Belfast

The light cruiser HMS Caroline is a sister ship to HMS Carysfort, on which my grandfather served as Surgeon from 1914 to 1916. Caroline has been moored in Belfast for about 70 years, but now looks like being conserved as a museum. Well worth a visit. Here seen in original trim, with a pole mast. After the Battle of Jutland most Royal Navy pole masts were replaced by the familiar tripod mast.
